Important
The catalogued models are the ones made by Fender for the domestic market some of which were exported but they also made guitars solely for export and except for the 1990s Collectable series most of these weren't catalogued and specs can vary some will be the equivalent of the high end models and some the lower end ones but may not be an exact match.

Fender Japan Stratocaster ST58 range

This range comprises of only 2 guitars the ST58 and the ST58-70TX both from the Vintage Premium Range. The mystery with these is why they exist at all they are virtually the same as the equivalent ST57s but with different colour options, mainly the addition of 3 tone sunburst. So if you see what looks like an ST57 in 3 tone sunburst it's an ST58 if you see one in 2 tone sunburst it is an ST 57 or an ST58-70TX. To give an idea of the level of these the ST58 RRP was 79800yen in 2010 and the TX version was 70,000 yen in 2004

Fender 2013 FSRs/SEs

There were a number of FSRs across the whole of the Fender range in 2013 to mark the Fender Japan 40th Anniversary. Some of them are far from Vintage specs even though they bear the vintage designation. The one below belongs to Willmunny at the strat forum and is fairly vintage, he has kindly provided all the details. Thank you.
